A Poem

Are you afraid?

Do you feel that icy cold chill

Drip down your spine

As you sit in your

Fucking tower

And write up your

Fucking rules about

My body

And her body

And his body

And their body;

Yes, please, dictate to me

What I can do or not do

With my very own goddamn body;

With my scary fifty-two year old uterus

That is so beautifully powerful

And so powerfully filled with rage

It has birthed both men and women

Into this agonizing world,

Amongst screams and

War cries and blood,

With tears that fell to my breast

As I held each one to me

And nourished them from

My scary female body.

I see it clearly.

Your fear of women.

Whether they are

Assigned female at birth

Or whether they transition,

We are all sisters.

And we all see

Your hate of us.

Your disgust.

Is it because you could never

Figure out how to pleasure

The female form

That your feelings of

Desire for us faded away?

Is it because you're

Sexually attracted to a woman

Who was born with

The same parts as you

That makes you repulsed

By your own weakness?

You hate us

Because you cannot

Understand us.

You hate us

Because you cannot

Control us.

You hate us

Because you want us.

Because you need us.

And yet…

You and your bros

Get hard and get off

And pat each other

On the back

In a fucking circle jerk

Of congratulations

While my sisters

Are forced down

Beneath your boot

And made to do things

With their bodies

They don't want to do.

How proud of yourselves you must be.

Such a prime example

Of a man you are.

But know this:

Together, we have far more power

Than you could ever dream.

Together, we are love.

Together, we are warriors.

Together, we will fight.

So yes. Be afraid.

That old saying about

Hell hath no fury?

It’s true.

And there are millions

Of us that you have

Scorned.
